Background: In 2023, Smoothie King partnered with Bounteous to enhance their digital ordering experience and highlight their vibrant new branding. This branding, characterized by its fresh, power-packed, and energetic feel, was designed to emphasize the freshness of their ingredients and the health benefits of their smoothies. The goal for the new app was to be fresh, packed with personality, and aligned with the new branding, aiming to attract a demographic of health-conscious individuals who are on the go and willing to purchase a smoothie as a meal replacement.
Problem: The existing Smoothie King app needed significant enhancements to better serve its users. A more user-friendly interface was crucial, given the extensive range of smoothie combinations and options. The complexity of customization could be overwhelming, potentially deterring users from fully engaging with the app. Additionally, the app needed to help users easily find nearby locations and select their preferred method of receiving their orders. Encouraging users to join the loyalty program was a priority, as loyalty drives returning customers and customer retention.
Integrating the new branding was another key aspect, aiming to make the app both functional and exciting. Design elements needed to be thoughtfully placed to enhance user experiences without distracting from the app's navigation and ordering process.
Solution: To address these challenges, the digital revamp focused on making the ordering process intuitive and straightforward by creating an accessible, fully responsive web and app design.
